What is the MLS® System?
MLS® stands for Multiple Listing Service®. The MLS® System is a database of properties for sale that local real estate boards operate for their REALTOR® members, so brokerages can share listings and cooperate to find buyers. The MLS® trademarks are owned by The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA).
REALTOR.ca is CREA's national public website. It displays properties that REALTORS® have listed on MLS® Systems across Canada, including homes for sale in St. John's and the rest of Newfoundland and Labrador, which makes it a convenient place for buyers to browse current listings.
How do I search MLS® listings in the St. John's area?
- Open REALTOR.ca. Go to REALTOR.ca on your computer or phone.
- Enter a community. Type a city or town, such as “St. John's, NL”, “Mount Pearl, NL” or “Paradise, NL”, or move the map to the area you want.
- Set your filters. Narrow the results by price range, bedrooms, bathrooms and property type, such as a house, townhouse or condo.
- Save what you like. Note the MLS® number on each listing that interests you. A REALTOR.ca account also lets you save favourite listings and searches.
- Send us the MLS® number. We'll answer your questions, pull recent comparable sales and book a showing.
